Basic Purpose of the role
The Consultant Endocrinologist at Reem Hospital plays a pivotal role in providing expert clinical care in the diagnosis and management of endocrine disorders with a strong focus on diabetology. This position requires an experienced physician with exceptional clinical acumen, capable of providing high-quality patient care while utilizing evidence-based practices. Performing procedures such as FNA and ultrasound-guided FNA independently will be considered a significant advantage but is not mandatory. The Consultant Endocrinologist will contribute to Reem Hospital’s commitment to delivering excellence in healthcare.
Key responsibilities of the role
- Diagnose, manage, and treat patients with endocrine disorders, particularly those requiring diabetology care.
- Perform comprehensive clinical evaluations, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct pre-consultation assessments, explain procedures, and address patient concerns empathetically.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver holistic and integrated patient care.
- Provide post-consultation education to patients, focusing on disease management, lifestyle adjustments, and follow-up care.
- Perform procedures such as FNA and ultrasound-guided FNA independently, if applicable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in adherence to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements, guidelines, and best practices in endocrinology and diabetology to enhance patient outcomes.

- Ensures all nursing and allied health staff maintains confidentiality regarding patient/staff information.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience
Education
- Medical degree from a recognized institution, supplemented with specialized training in Endocrinology.
- Tier One certification preferred: Facharzt (Germany), CCT/CCST (UK), American Board, or equivalent.
- Tier Two certifications acceptable: Arab Board or equivalent recognized certifications.
- Valid DoH License to practice as a Consultant in Abu Dhabi.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of clinical experience in a reputable and busy practice in Abu Dhabi.
- Proven expertise in the management of diabetic patients and general endocrinology cases.
Language Skills
- Excellent English communication skills (mandatory).
- Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is preferred.

Physical requirements
This position requires physical work in clinical settings. The candidate must be able to:
- Respond quickly to patient needs in various hospital areas.
- Perform procedures requiring manual dexterity, such as ultrasound-guided FNA.
- Lift, maneuver, and assist patients and equipment as needed.
- Conduct office work involving the use of computers, telehealth systems, and departmental coordination.
Key physical demands include standing for extended periods, walking, reaching, crouching, and lifting equipment/patients when necessary.
