Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Provide advanced clinical care for pediatric patients with endocrine disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.
- Conduct detailed medical histories, physical exams, and necessary diagnostic testing.
- Manage complex endocrine cases including but not limited to diabetes mellitus, thyroid conditions, growth disorders, obesity, pituitary and adrenal conditions, and disorders of puberty.
- Formulate individualized treatment plans based on the latest evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with other specialists (e.g., pediatricians, surgeons, dietitians) to offer comprehensive care.
Consultation and Referral:
- Serve as an expert consultant to other pediatric specialists, healthcare providers, and general practitioners in cases requiring pediatric endocrinology expertise.
- Provide second opinion consultations and guidance on complex or rare endocrine conditions.
- Review and manage referrals from other departments or healthcare institutions.
Education & Training:
- Mentor and provide training to medical staff, including residents, fellows, and nursing staff in pediatric endocrinology.
- Actively participate in the development and delivery of educational programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance knowledge in pediatric endocrine care.
Research & Development:
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to the development of research protocols related to pediatric endocrinology.
- Stay current with the latest scientific advancements and best practices in pediatric endocrinology.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.
Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed medical records for each patient in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and pathways for the management of pediatric endocrine disorders.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including audits, peer reviews, and continuing education.
- Help in strategic planning for pediatric endocrinology services, including the growth and development of the department.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).
- Completion of a recognized Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pediatric endocrinology, preferably with experience in a leadership or consultant role.
- Proven track record of managing a wide variety of pediatric endocrine disorders.
Certification & Licensure:
- Board-certified in Pediatric Endocrinology (or equivalent).
- Active medical license to practice in UAE or eligibility for licensure.
Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of pediatric endocrine conditions and their management.
- Strong diagnostic skills and experience in interpreting laboratory and imaging results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with children, families, and medical colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong teaching and mentoring abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in clinical research and published studies in pediatric endocrinology.
- Experience with the latest endocrine treatment technologies and techniques.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing clinical protocols and guidelines.
