Responsibilities

Clinical Practice
Provides direct patient care utilizing the process within established Medical Centre, divisional and unit specific policies and procedures, standards, protocol.

  • Removing body hair safely and permanently using state of the art laser equipment.
  • Discuss with the patient their skin type, allergies, medications and overall health.
  • They assess the patient’s overall health to determine the safest and most effective settings for the laser device, resulting in the best outcome.
  • Help put patients at ease, educate them on the treatment and also make suggestions for dealing with the mild pain and discomfort that can accompany the procedure.
  • Required to work by law in medical facilities under direct physicians’ supervision or under medical license.
  • Spending their day interacting with people, striver to build a rapport with patients and to ease their discomfort during their procedures.
  • Uses laser equipment to remove discoloration, surface skin, tissues or growth.
  • May be responsible for assembling, dismantling, installing, calibrating. Testing, operating and repairing lasers.
  • They also may perform alignment procedures, clean optics, and integrate lasers opto-mechanic parts.
  • They as well work on laser documentation and troubleshoot.
  • Perform nursing duties within clinical scope of practice and professional code of conduct as directed by DOH PQR. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge and clinical assessment skills appropriate to their clinical area and performs their role according to best practice competency frameworks and professional knowledge and experience.
  • Ensure core, and unit specific competencies are current as determined by the dermatology department in NMCRHMBZC.
  • Takes direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations and demonstrates ability for decision making and leadership.
  • Documents all assessments, interventions and other necessary information in the patient’s medical record according to the policy and national and international standards of documentation.
  • Promotes continuity of patient care through oral and written communication to the multidisciplinary team according to the needs of the patient.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills when interacting with patients/families, other health care team members and staff of other departments.
  • Fosters a climate of mutual understanding and appreciation of cross culture inherent in a multicultural work frames and great population and ensures acts according to this understanding.
  • Demonstrates high level of infection prevention and knowledge and actions in clinical area and reports any issue according to Medical Centre policy and Infection control framework.
  • DOH reporting of infectious diseases and CDC guidelines.

Qualifications

•   Academic Qualification as a registered nurse from an accredited university or beauty therapist
•   Hair Reduction certification from one of the accredited bodies if attained outside the UAE.
•   Successful Completion of recognized Laser Training Course for hair reduction with evidence of then (10) hands on training cases.
