Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
– Manage clinical and operational activities within the ICU to ensure optimal clinical care, patient safety, and customer satisfaction.
– Provide age-appropriate patient care aligned with the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
– Perform a comprehensive and holistic assessment of patients’ nursing care needs, identifying specific requirements for critically ill patients.
– Develop and implement individualized care plans that are evidence-based, in collaboration with patients (whenever possible).
– Document patient assessments, physical and psychosocial responses to nursing interventions.
– Ensure safe and effective clinical handover/reporting to ensure continuity of care using SBAR principles.
– Competently perform required clinical procedures and maintain competencies as outlined in the Clinical Competency Framework.
– Monitor and report patients’ conditions to the appropriate medical personnel during each shift.
– Provide patient education, including health risk factors and preventive care.
– Utilize resources, such as clinical supplies and dressings, in a cost-effective and responsible manner.
– Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide continuous, high-quality care.
– Adhere to safety and risk management policies, ensuring safe practices in the ICU.
Job Requirements:
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
✔️ Valid nursing license issued by the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi (DOH) or eligibility.
✔️ Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience, with proficiency in managing critically ill patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation.
✔️ Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
✔️ Ability to perform ICU-specific procedures competently and adhere to hospital protocols.
