Specialist Gastroenterologist

Job Description

We are looking for a South Asian Gastroenterologist to join our team and work with patients to diagnose and treat various medical conditions related to the gastrointestinal tract , liver and pancreas.

Gastroenterologist responsibilities include consulting with patients to understand their needs, performing various tests to diagnose patients, and performing Endoscopic procedures.

Ultimately, you will work with various medical professionals and directly with patients to treat various medical conditions and help them lead a healthier life.

Eligibility Criteria:

· Higher Professional Degree / Specialty certificate recognized by Ministry of Health in relevant area of specialization.

· MD from an Accredited Medical School

· Board Certified or Board Eligible

· Able to perform ERCP .

Licensing Details:

· Active DHA/MOH/DOH license as Specialist Gastroenterologist preferred.

· Candidates that have DHA/MOH/DOH eligibility or are going through the eligibility process, with a positive Dataflow report, are also eligible to apply.

Experience:

· Minimum of 5 years of work experience since gaining higher qualification.

Roles & Responsibilities.

· Consulting with patients with complex ailments to understand their symptoms and health concerns.

· Diagnosing and treating complex medical illnesses as well as chronic diseases and conditions.

· Prescribing or administering medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.

· Explaining procedures and discussing test results or prescribed treatments with patients.

· Monitoring patients’ conditions and progress, and re-evaluating treatments as necessary.

· Providing health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.

· Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.

· Referring patients to other medical specialists, when necessary.

· Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.

· Preparing official health documents or records, when necessary.

· Make diagnosis when different illnesses occur together or in situations where diagnosis may be obscure.

· Be available for providing expert opinion to junior colleagues to achieve a diagnosis or treatment goals.

· Direct and coordinate activities for nurses, assistants, specialists, and other medical staff by supervising medical care.

· Make efforts to bring new services to the hospital and department.

· Perform endoscopic procedures to inspect internal organs

· Execute X-Ray, MRI, and ultrasound scanning

· Perform surgery in the digestive tract

Skill requirements:

· Must be able to perform ERCP.

· Expertise in performing endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures.

· Proficiency with X-Rays, MRIs, and ultrasound scanning

· Relevant training and/or certifications as a Gastroenterologist

· Leadership skills appropriate for a highly functioning clinical team.

· Outstanding patient management skills

· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Must be able to communicate in Urdu & Hindi languages.

· Proven work experience as a Gastroenterologist
